Vintage :)

Dress: Garbelle.

Apologies for the lack of outfit posting! The boy and I have been busy with work. He's taught me how to use the timer on the camera though so I'm going to have a play with it this weekend and see what I can come up with. They will never be anywhere near as good as the boy's but at least I'll get some pictures!

These 'vintage' 2008 shots are to fill the gap until I post an outfit later this weekend :) They are from one of the many shoots we did with Cyrena from Garbelle. I like the zip detail, it goes all the way up the front of the dress. I'll also be posting the pictures you all sent in so if you're still thinking about sending them to me- DO IT! The ones I've got so far are fantastic. You're all a stylish bunch!

This weekend I'll be meeting the girls for brunch and reading a couple of scripts that I have to put myself on tape for. The boy leaves for Venice on Sunday (he's shooting a film out there) so I'll flying solo with the camera timer for the rest of the week.... I can hardly get it in focus when I'm holding it in my hand so this shall be interesting.

Finally

The boy is out so I finally have access to his computer. Here are the Garbelle/Trainerspotter hooded dress pictures. After such a long wait I wish they were more impressive and that there was more of them! The dress is hot... the stubble under my armpits is not. Yugh! I'm only human :)

Pilot season is coming to an end and I was thinking I may have to leave this town unemployed but NBC saved the day and cast me in a pilot! I'm very superstitious and I don't want to put my mouth on it until it's all locked down but I have a job and when I feel like it's really really really really REALLY safe to tell you all the details, I will. I'm very happy and excited to get to work!

Red Riding

Dress: Garbelle

Another photo shoot from the archives. This one was done while me and the boy were filming  season two of Secret Diary. We both had a day off and we got up super early to head over to Thom's place and shoot in his garden. The whole purpose of this shoot was just to practice I guess and I love that we did that... Thom wanted to practice make up, Cyrena wanted more dresses for her collection and the boy wanted to test out his lighting idea. Just being creative for creative's sake.

Please note the black lipstick. Waaaaaaaaaay before Chanel did it!

I really love how Cyrena attached the hood to the dress. Like I said in my previous post there is also a Garbelle for Trainerspotter dress with a hood that I plan to post. All those images are on the boys computer and he's always using it when I want to. Eh hem :)

Acting camp is still in full force.

His and Hers aka Jungle Fever

Cocktail Dress: Garbelle for Trainerspotter. Men's Shirt: Trainerspotter. Sunglasses:Rayban

This is another shoot from back in the day. Trainerspotter is a really cool british label that I have a lot of love for. I was nuts about this shirt from the moment I saw it. Those lovely (and very smart) boys saw how Cyrena was making hot dresses and gave her some of the same material.... The dress above is what she came up with. Genius. And it fitted me like a dream. She also made another dress with a sick hood attached but I'll save those pictures for another day.

I love how the shots for the dress are sassy and feminine and then the shots with the shirt have a rockerbilly vibe. The boy killed it with the lighting. It looks like it's the hottest day in the jungle ever when in fact it was bloody freezing in my back garden and you couldn't even see the sky through the clouds.

Um, how small is Oscar here!? Adorable!!!!

It was his first photo shoot and he nailed it! God I miss my baby!

I'm in the middle of pilot season at the moment. I spend all day in my car going form audition to audition and then I come home and learn lines for the following day. It's hard work but there is something really satisfying about working towards something and chasing the dream. You gotta have a dream, right?

(Just saw that I finally made it to 100 followers. Thanks so much guys! It made so happy to see that! Mwah!)

I forgot to mention before that the Garbelle jacket is the one that Cyrena made for me for my birthday. You should have heard me when I opened it, I SQUEALED.

I love doing photo shoots with the boy because it's so quick and easy. This whole shoot took an hour and thats including hair and makeup. I have some shoots that we did a couple of years ago stored on my hard drive so I'm gonna dig them out and post them for you.

I was completely inspired by the hair on Alexander Wang's runway. I think this is from the spring 2010 show.

I totally stole that look for the Cheated Hearts shoot. It's super easy to do. I just clipped in some hair extensions and braided! The great thing about this is that you don't even need to worry about really blending the extensions or where you clip them because you'll be braiding them anyway. Have a go :)

Belated

I've been meaning to do a post about my birthday for ages but I've been far too busy watching TV and eating myself silly. Yesterday was the last of the silly eating days. I think.

I'm loving being at home. One of my favourite things to do is browse properties on the internet because I literally cannot wait to live in London. I have a place in LA now and I'll be going back there in Jan but at some point next year I am making London my home again.

I missed my friends so much whilst I've been away and my birthday was the first time we'd all been in the same place at the same time. I picked a cosy pub called The Lansdowne for my birthday festivities. It was freezing outside but the fire and the champagne kept us all warm.

My Zahra. Looking very French. I love the beret and red lips.

Gil. One of three Goldberg boys. I have the best one but the other two aint bad. Gil is working the Gangster look here.
Photobucket

I'm SO excited by the cake. Clapping my hands and all sorts.

My Daren aka Kevin Morosky. My mum calls him her second son. Read his blog here. He takes great pictures on a disposable camera.
Photobucket

At some point in the evening I decided I actually wanted to BE Daren. I took his glasses, his hat and his camera. I found myself HILARIOUS. Everybody else did not.
Photobucket

Cyrena from Garbelle. She made me a gorgeous jacket for my birthday. It's so perfect. Hand made presents rock.
Photobucket

Gemma. She is rocking the bad ass pocahontas look and KILLING it!
Photobucket

Jenni and Stepford. Stepford is called Stepford because she IS a Stepford wife. She bakes whilst wearing a frilly apron and red lipstick. She's my Idol. Jenni is all kinds of awesome :)
Photobucket

Ithai. Another Goldberg boy. I think he wanted to be Daren too.

One of the first things I did when I got to London was take my fur out of storage. I love this coat so much. It cost me 40 pounds from Portobello Market and it's seen me through many winters. (um why is there no pound sign on this computer!?!) I have no idea what fur it is or if it's even real fur. It has been the subject of many a debate. It's super rough and moults like a mutha f**ker... but I love it.

Oscar and I have spent our days hibernating. He takes it very seriously....

He'll even squeeze into a bag if needs be.

I might send that picture to American Apparel. He could easily be a model for them.

This is pretty much my favourite outfit to wear at the moment. A look I like to call: 'Crazy Theatre Dame Chic'.

Kimono: vintage. Leggings and hat: American Apparel. Butterfly vest: TopShop. Leopard scarf (used as belt): H&M.

My darling boy surprised me and bought me the gorgeous heart ring in the above picture. I lusted after it whilst I was in NY. It's an antique from 1880. I adore old rings, actually I adore most old jewellery. This ring made me yearn for it. I went back into the shop so many times and then one day it wasn't there! I was so heart broken.... and then months later my boy gave it to me for my birthday. I have no idea how he managed to keep it a secret for all that time but I'm glad he did.
