Topshop arrives in Canada!

Topshop has finally arrived in Toronto!!! And we are happy campers! We went to the opening party and pre-shopped with the amazzzzing red haired Alison Mosshart from our favourite band, The Kills and supermodel Coco Rocha! We also picked up some killer pieces like this oversized rainbow fluffy vest, black sparkle boots, a fuchsia fedora and a spike headband! The store is huge, over 15,000 square feet and there are soooo many fantastic shoes...gulp! Later that night, we headed to the Topshop after party launch where supercool DJ Harley Viera- Newton   was spinning the best music and getting everyone amped up for The Kills to perform... and they rocked the house! Jamie Hince jammed like no other, and Alison Mosshart is officially our new girl crush.  We had the best time and danced like crazy people into the wee hours!  Thanks Topshop for all of the fun---we can't wait to scoop up more goodies (next week!)

Kelly Wearstler Party!

We got to meet the uber talented and gorgeous interior designer, author, and blogger Kelly Wearstler who just launched her super cool Fall 2011 ready to wear collection. We we went to celebrate her launch at the department store, Holt Renfrew in Toronto. Kelly's line was filled with hand-drawn brush stroke jackets, feminine dress silhouettes, sweatshirts with scribble embroidery, coral embroidered clutches and crystal jewelry wrapped with leather. All of her pieces are totally obsessive and they had a Parisian feel to them, especially the striped brown jacket (that our Mom is wearing in the picture) that looks like it's made out of paper. H&M and Vitamin Daily Style Contest!- Vote for us :)

We teamed up with H&M and Vitamin Daily to style a mannequin at H&M in our most favourite pieces from their Fall 2011 Collection! We had the best time styling our mannequin head to toe in a back to school look mixed with grungey plaids and the Upper East side. We layered a dress with striped long sleeves, a vest and a jacket to complete a total Fall look. We also love mixing different color plaids together to create a Rock Royalty look. We used an oversized plaid vest to complete the look with grey thigh highs and that awesome bowler hat. (That we both ended up bringing home!) We also gave our mannequin some hand drawn red lips! Hahaha!!! So she is super kissable! Orange is soo in for Fall, so we threw H&M's 1960's inspired coat over her shoulders, used orange bow bracelets and put an orange tassel necklace on her bag as her bag charm.

Backstage Ports 1961 Pre- Fall 2011 Photoshoot!

We were soo excited when our amazing friend and incredible stylist, Tu Ly asked us to come backstage to preview the Ports 1961 photoshoot for Pre-Fall 2011. It all took place in NY and in their gorgeous loft studio that let in the most amazing sunlight, which went perfectly with their theme. The collection is called L'heure Bleue, which is "the moment just before sunrise and just after dusk... it's a moment when everything seems to slow down to a heartbeat and everything seems full of possibility." The clothes are beautiful and designer Fiona Cibiani did an amazing job! The draping and construction of each piece is so sophisticated and elegant. The color palette is filled with navy, all shades of blues and teals with hints of burnt oranges, warm browns and pale pinks. It's a ballerina ladylike chic. The jewelry is made out of ostrich feathers with delicate chains. Ports 1961 is known for their classic couture techniques and Michelle Obama was seen wearing Ports last month! Fiona is the sweetest and we had so much fun with her! All of the models were running around getting photographed and changing into their next looks, for the photoshoot, while there was a launch of the Ports Menswear label in the next room.
