something good can work: Isabel Marant s2012

Isabel Marant spring2012
Girls story. It seems that high glamour won't convince Isabel Marant either for next spring.
I like that she combines anything short, appealing and rock&rollish with knit jerseys and relaxed summer
pieces; it always makes it look stronger and usable. Comfortable inspiration.

- weather in Paris is perfect = I had to cut out all the (fashion week) outfits that included pants or sweaters. I like though.
- Balmain looked a little like this, multiplied 3 times in sophistication. So good. Already set 3 favorite looks on the wallpaper.
- I'm becoming too satisfied with this new season. What about you?

Look of the Day.131: Rachel's place in NY

Wearing dress by StyleStalker and Giuseppe Zanotti shoes
My beloved aussie sister Rachel(the woman behind the coolest aussie label StyleStalker) took this picture when I was climbing off her staircase at her New York apartment during fashion week. Not sure when I decided to monkey around with those heels on, but it clearly wasn't the very best idea hahaha. Anyway I'm currently sorting my suitcase as in a few hours I'm off to Paris. I'll be attending tomorrow Loewe's show, then quick trip to Madrid for some events, back to Paris for the incredible show of Elie Saab and back to Madrid... yes... another non stop week :)

Fun Fact: We love these House of Holland bandana pants cause they are high waisted and they seem to go with everything! We are all about sparkling and glittering through the Fall month. I was dressed in this gorgeous Dolce&Gabbana piece to attend their big show last week in Milan (ps. One of the best venues, collection, finale and the whole  show for sure this season!)
I'm still amazed by this dress. I never pictured that a dress with longeur below the knee would beat so many little dresses I  normally like so much.

I was looking at summer pictures and realized that escaping to an all-year-summer-paradise suddenly seems like a perfect idea... not a plan yet though, but looking at those pictures freshens me up. Probably influenced too by the fact of seeing so many spring/summer shows.

Under the sea: Versace SS12 details

all pictures by me
Little mermaid meets Donatella Versace. The show in Milan  was perfection made under the sea. I liked so much the way the collection felt so vibrant to everyone, and that also transmited somehow a really happy mood about it. This show reaches all my expectatives of a perfect mermaid dress. Versace has always had this Medusa motiff, and these themed detailed dresses either from a coral reef or from down under the sea, are representing well Donatella's personality. Complimenti Versace!
Landed yesterday in beautiful Paris, so today's plans are just to arrange things for the fashion week here and enjoy friend's company.  The best way to start the week.
Ciao!

PS.I have to apologize for the lack of posting this weekend!  In Milan only the ipad was working with internet and had camera lense issues (all good now!)

Softly

Jeans: Current Elliott. Shirt: Zara (found a similar one here).
Clutch: Alexander Wang (huge selection here )
Sandals: TopShop.

I think clothes with a masculine edge that cover you up can sometimes be even sexier then a tiny dress that shows it all.... Think YSL Le Smoking. So sexy.

Don't forget episode 2 of 'Revenge' on ABC @10pm this wednesday!

Caillianne- Circus + Prep

Sweater- Red Zara sweater from Zara store in Toronto
Blouse (worn underneath)- Freda white blouse from The Bay in Toronto
Pin- Vintage Anca pin from the Chelsea Flea Market in NY
Hat- Vintage straw hat (no label) from The Brimfield Antique show in Boston, MA
Sunglasses- Vintage (no label) sunnies from Showdown Vintage in Toronto
Pants- Vintage Dove pants from a store in Kensington in Toronto
Shoes- Tretorn Nylites gifted from Tretorn
Bag- Red Balenciaga bag from Holt Renfrew in Toronto

The Look: Circus + Prep

Fun Fact: I was really excited when Tretorn sent us these Nylites because my grandmother used to have a pair. They are considered the first luxury sports shoe and were designed in 1967. I remember her wearing them! We used to watch her play tennis and then she would come and sit beside me and check on my knitting and see if I dropped any stitches. Check out the Nylite Prjoect here! Also, how crazy cute is my pin! We started collecting vintage Anca pins but they are really hard to find. She was an artist in the 80's and put together pins made of vintage Bakelite and vintage poker chips and turned them into little creatures.
